Do Fashion Bloggers Get Free Clothes?

In recent times fashion blogging has become extremely popular, especially in recent times the pandemic has given birth to many new bloggers who have been contributing with their fashion, lifestyle skills in the blogging community. Blogging looks very confusing from the outside and we see many bloggers daily getting new clothes and wearing them and that often leaves us wondering how do they spend so much on clothes alone or how are they even getting clothes for free in the first place?

Why Brands Approach Fashion Bloggers or Influencers

In today’s world, nothing comes for free and the same goes for the world of blogging. Blogging looks very simple and easy but in reality, creating content and getting it towards a target audience is much more than that. It takes time, money, energy and a happy mood irrespective of whatever you are feeling at that moment. Then setting hashtags and creating interesting posts strategically is the only way to get more followers on one’s account. Once followers are enough and the content is good, brands start to role in eventually, including home businesses, as well as bigger names and that’s how many bloggers can afford new clothes daily once they start to get brand deals or PR packages coming in. But again, that is not free. Brands approach them as they are certain that bloggers are marketing their products for them. In this world of influence, where people follow mostly those with the best Instagram-able pictures and captions, brands target such influencers as they know that once those fashion bloggers or influencers wear their clothes they will be getting a free form of marketing for themselves through social media, as social media marketing is equally in nowadays. Many bloggers or influencers have such a large following that anything they post will get views in thousands in minutes so it’s free publicity for brands and their clothes. Bloggers get the fashion item, they wear it, flaunt it and in return, the particular brand gets the crowd and their sale. But it’s a mutual benefit for both the brand and the fashion blogger and works out as best for both of them. In that way bloggers also get more followers, fame, and name.

What Are the Other Ways?

One way of getting clothes in exchange for social media advertisement is getting PR packages, but another way is getting it on discount or a launch of a fashion brand. Fashion bloggers are invited on launches and asked to take pictures by wearing the particular item they were sent and asked to wear on the occasion as well as given a discount. Many fashion bloggers don’t get it for free but they do get discount prices on the particular clothing item.

With the mutual benefit of both the parties, fashion bloggers and the brand, it is safe to say that fashion bloggers aren’t getting anything for free and they are getting what they are working hard for.
