How to Get There?
Aspen is very easy to access the resort. All credit goes to the four airports that offer numerous nonstop flights. And they are Aspen County Airport (ASE), Eagle County Airport (EGE), Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT), and Denver International Airport (DIA). Among these 4, flying into ASE is by far the most expensive but the most convenient one.
And if you want to drive your own four-wheeler, Snowmass is about a 4-hour drive from the Front Range cities of Denver / Boulder / Golden.
Skiing at Aspen Snowmass
The Snowmass Mountain is huge! There are four mountains in Aspen: Aspen Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk. All of them are nearby and can be accessed with the same lift ticket or IKON pass.
The 53 years old ski area has an impressive 4,406 vertical feet of skiing and riding which is the longest lift-served vert in the USA. With 96 trails, 3,128 skiable acres with wide-open terrain, terrific trees, bold bowls, and all levels of runs, Snowmass is boundless.
It comes in at 6% green, 47% blue, 17% black, and 30% expert. Liftlines are practically unheard of and many of the runs are so wide-open and long, you’ll often feel like you have the entire mountain to yourself. And if that wasn’t enough, there are three terrain parks, including the iconic 22-foot Superpipe, for those who want to go big.
Snowmass is covered with perfect Colorado powder, and massive enough to offer up every type of terrain from serene to extreme. Twenty speedy lifts (but rarely lift lines) deliver you to more than 3,300 acres of snowsports smorgasbord.
That including 98 trails totaling 150 miles which vary from cruisers to cliff bands, plus three terrain parks and pipes, all at Aspen Snowmass. From the gladed trees of Burnt Mountain and expert couloirs in Hanging Valley to miles of intermediate cruisers like Sneaky’s and beginner areas for learning,
Activities off the slope
Aspen is just not about skiing. There is a shitload of other exciting activities that’d keep you alive among the snows! No doubt, skiing is the main charm here but there’s more to Aspen than winter sports: on-mountain concerts, fun festivals, snowcat dinner rides, family-friendly dining, races and competitions, high-end shopping, fascinating museums, and what not!
Struggling with the kids? The Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center takes great care of your kids with custom-themed playrooms like the Bear Den. Besides, Snowmass has many of its dog-friendly lodging options! No wonder why families keep coming back every year here.
No other mountain offers the variety of experiences you’ll find at Snowmass. Bet on that!

At Aspen Snowmass, 7 on-mountain restaurants offer places to pause and rest, which you’ll need after trails that stretch as long as five miles. If you want to enjoy picturesque mountain scenarios, get into any of the resort’s 8 on-mountain restaurants. On every Friday during ski season, Snowmass has Ullr Nights, a fun on-mountain event at Elk Camp with tubing, live music, and great food.
