Capital City Club
This golf course is a beautiful option that contains an extremely long course history starting all the way back in the year 1883. Its high quality design and picturesque views on the practice facility, let alone the actual course, will leave you stunned. With bunkers lining the fairway at all times and trees mixed throughout, the course will be challenging and fun at the same time.
Ocean Forest
This may be one of the lesser known courses on the list, but we have it sixth on our list again due to its beauty and high quality. As the name entails, this course lies on the side of the ocean and it is almost like the Georgia version of Pebble Beach. It is also a cheaper version too which makes it an even greater option.
Sea Island
Here at the Sea Island golf course there are three championship golf courses, it is home to the RSM Classic PGA Tournament, and has a 17,000 square-foot state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center to work on skills that one may be struggling with. Here at the Sea Island course they are really dedicated to helping you become a great golfer, especially with having a 17,000 square foot center that is just dedicated to your skills of playing.
Atlanta Athletic Club
The Atlanta Athletic Club is especially known for the fact that they have PGA professionals working on the course to help anyone who may need help. A person can just be playing on the course then have a retired or active PGA professional walk up to them and give them tips on how to golf better. This would be a game winner for anyone who plays golf because the guys on tour know everything that is happening with someone’s swing and what one may be doing wrong.
Cuscowilla
The Cuscowilla golf course is on beautiful Lake Oconee. The course is known to have a very minimalistic view to it, especially coming from its history. The Creek Indians who worked there many centuries ago worked right on the water. This beautiful golf course right on the water can also be looked at as a vacation getaway because there are also condos like lake homes right by the course.
Pine Valley
Even though Pine Vlley has never hosted any national or international tournaments it is one of the best golf courses because of the fact of their “classic” holes. Many pro golfers who have golfed here have said there holes are so much better than other courses because there is so much more meaning to them than others. There has also been some pro golfers who grew up learning on this course.
Augusta National
Augusta National Golf Club is a very known golf course here in the United States. This is because it is home to the Masters every single year. Augusta is known as a private club but they are one of th ones who is a for-profit instead of a non-profit. Because of this, they do not disclose any of their incomes. Since they host the Masters year after year it does make sense to be a for-profit because they bring in a ton of money from this tournament alone.
Cypress Point Club
Cypress Point Club is on the coast of California. Lots of famous golfers play here for not only the location but it is also known to have some of the best holes in the golf game. The PGA Tour has been hosted here multiple times and has great scenery in all of its shots. The course is also rated as one of the top three courses ever created by all major publications.
Shinnecock Hills Golf Club
The beautiful Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is a beautiful golf course that looks like the scene out of a movie. It is known as one of the top golf courses in the world and definitely one of the top 15 in the United States. This course has also hosted may USGA events and will also be hosting the 2025 U.S. Open Championship.
Oakmont Golf Course
This stunning golf course sits in the western part of Pennsylvania. An interesting fact about this beautiful course is that it has hosted more USGA and PGA championships combined than any other course in the United States. This fact should tell you just how reputable the course is. The course is also known as probably the most difficult course in North America because of all the obstacles each hole has to offer.
Merion Golf Club
The Merion Golf Course is also located in Pennsylvania. Players who have played at this course are heard to have said things like “Acre for acre, Merion may be the best test for golf in the world. This course helps players finally define their name after playing on Merion. The greens and landscaping is nothing less than high class.
National G. Links of America
The National G. Links of America course is located in New York. The course constructors wanted to the course to look somewhat like the ones in Scotland and England. They wanted to bring the prestigious courses from overseas into the United States to give our courses a “higher class view”.
Pebble Beach G. Links
The Pebble Beach G. Links Golf Course is known as the number one public golf course in America. Just like the other golf courses it has hosted several U.S. Opens. With that being said they just hosted their sixth one in 2019, meaning this is more than any other course in the past 50 years. On their website it also walks anyone through what each of their holes looks like.
Fishers Island Club
This course is right around the corner from Cape Cod which means you know the course is already going to be beautiful. Especially with the water from the Atlantic Ocean being right next to the course, it is a getaway. Many things are offered outside of the course but it is known for its true beauty.
Sand Hills Golf Course
The Sand Hills Golf Course has a very interesting story in how it got created. The two designers were trying to have a plan for the course but in reality all they had to do what sit because and let nature figure itself out. This course is known as the most natural course in America because it quite literally made itself.
