Hamburger Falkenstein Golf Course
Hamburger Falkenstein has a firm foundation behind their beliefs. They are very set on the fact that nature must be within the course. And the fact that they want younger generations to come and see the game for what it truly is, and of course have some fun competition in the meantime. They love golf a lot at this club and only want future generations to feel the same way they do. The club is also willing to take any comments or criticism anyone has while playing there to make the course better or improve anything that they may see wrong.
Budersand Sylt
The Budersand Sylt Golf Course was awarded with the best golf course in Germany and the German Golf Award in 2020. They also offer indoor golf classes and training so you can improve your game off of the actual golf course. Doing this can also help you improve without worrying about your score and changing something mid-game. There is also a pro shop, restaurant, and a hotel for your leisure when playing here. Staying in the hotel will give you the full experience you need when you play on this course. The course is also right on the water so it will give you beautiful views while you play.
Fohr (Rot and Gelb)
The Fohr has a very interesting history behind it especially for the years of the war and after the war. It was once used beside a boarding house, then later on it was used in real estate and so on. When playing on the course it is important to remember the history that took place on the same grounds that you are standing on. It should also give you a greater appreciation for what happened there and how it came about to be the beautiful golf course it is today. The course is tiny but all the holes are basically beside each other.
Winston
Winston Golf Course in Germany is a unique course that has been called “faux links”. They are not fake however they do look fake. When they were designing the course they decided to make it probably the toughest one in Germany. It is unknown if people like to golf on this course or not just because it does not make people the happiest. It will definitely give you a run for your money but it is really difficult according to some people who have played on this course. This will challenge all golfers from every skill level as well too.
Hardenburg
The 11th gole at the Hardenburg course is actually shaped like a boar’s head, interesting enough the Hardenburg family crest was a boar. Just like any of the other courses this one is also good and bad in one course. Once you get into the swing of things during your round it is not as bad. However, when you first start your round it can be a bit bumpy. Golfers usually get the hang of things a few holes in and you should be fine. That isn’t to say that there aren’t difficult holes after the first few. You will get challenged all throughout the curse and most of the time it is when you are least expecting it.
Berlin-Wannsee
Berlin-Wannsee is probably the oldest and most prestigious golf course in Europe. The interesting thing about this course is they were going to have it ready for the Olympics in 1916. But when World War I happened, they had to close down the course for a whole century. It then opened back up and is the beautiful course everyone sees today. After World War II, America then owned the course and held onto it for quite some time. Then after many years, Germany took it back for good and people play on it all the time and they absolutely love it.
St. Dionys
The club experienced some deforestation over the years and of course this messed up the golf course a bit. The club pretty much lost all the front nine holes and the back nine were pretty much left alone. Because of this, they had to move the original nine holes to a different part of the course. This would naturally make the course smaller and make lots of people upset because of the complete moving and remodeling of the holes. After remaking the front nine holes lots of golfers complained that they were too close together and they needed to be redone again.
Schloss Klingenburg
The Schloss Klingenburg course is nothing short of amazing. It is always a good time when golfing at this course in Germany and is truly one of a kind. The first couple holes will help any golfer to be relieved of their jitters when first starting the round. There are a couple sharp turns on the course that will take some strategy to figure out as well. This course has so much to offer and everyone loves to play here. There is no traffic or disturbances around the course so this will give you time to concentrate without much noise.
Sonnenalp-Oberallgäu
On the Sonnenalp=Oberallgau course you will feel like you’ve played on multiple courses but all in one. The five-star hotel of the course sits basically in the center of everything located here. It is said that when golfing here it looks to be a dead end however, it just keeps on going on and on. There are multiple things you will see along the way such as mountains, pastures, ravines, barns, and so on. If you love to see new things and want to see lots of things in one day this is the course for you, everyone loves it here.
Bad Saarow
The famous golfer known as Arnold Palmer actually designed this beautiful course. And not to worry, he did not include much of his American design into this course. It is located on a beautiful lake known as Lake Scharmutzel. You cannot only go to play on the golf course though, you have to stay at the amazing resort the course has to offer. They include many other things than just golf so make sure you stay awhile. The front nine of the course only really warms you up for the back nine. Their back nine holes have gotten numerous of the same compliment of being “the most beautiful back nine in Germany.”
