The Barton Creek Foothill and Canyon Golf Club 

Starting at number 10 on our list is The Barton Creek Foothill and Canyon Golf Club. This course is even challenging for the experienced players because of the water hazards and the way the greens play out on this course and the way it is set up. The course was also ranked number four on “America’s Best Resort Courses. Even though it costs $298 per person for one round of golf it would definitely be worth it to play on such a high rank of a golf course. 

Whistling Straits 

The two courses at this golf course known as the Straits course and the Irish course offer so much to the players when playing here. The course has held many PGA events and is also set to be teo miles from the Lake Michigan shoreline. The round of golf for this course is $300 per person. However, the interesting thing about this course is from the name Irish course, it was made to be like the courses in Ireland. This means that the terrain and grass is designed to be more Irish which in turn would make them harder to play on.

Kingsbarn Golf Links 

This course in Scotland is definitely one of a kind. The course is known to host the European Tour Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Although this one tournament a year brings in a lot of money for the course, a round of golf here still costs $300. With that being said, when these courses are charging so much for a round of golf you know the golf course has to be well made and of great quality. In reviews, the people say the caddies are next level and take their jobs very seriously. More recently, they have built a resort on the site of the golf course for a better stay and to have people stay right at the resort. 

The Spyglass Hill Golf Course 

The Spyglass Hill Golf Course has a very interesting take to it. “Treasure Island” the novel actually gave the name to the course even though it was created in 1966. Knowing this, some of the holes at the golf course are named after the pirates within the book. For this course, you will have to pay a bit higher than Kingsbarn Golf Links and Whistling Straits for a price of $315. But if we are being honest I would pay this just for the interesting story behind it and reading the book. The course has also been rated as one of the toughest and most challenging courses globally. 

The Ocean House 

This course in South Carolina has had many PGA events held here and many of the players love it because of how difficult it can get at any time. The course was actually intentionally et up so the wind would affect the game play. With the course being right on the ocean, the winds are constantly blowing onto the course. The course would cost $320 for a round but it may be worth it to some because of the views of the Atlantic Ocean on every single hole. Reader’s Digest also ranked this course as being the toughest course in the United States.

TPC Sawgrass 

The TPC Sawgrass course is known to be the best golf course in the state of Florida adn is also ranked in the top 50 in all of the United States. The special thing about this course is that is was not designed for one specific golf style. This is the [art that makes the course challenging because no one golfer really knows how to play on it. It would be very important to be patient on this course because you can be a great golfer but the course can change on you at any moment. To play one round of golf on this course it would cost you $350 which can be pretty pricey but would really challenge your skill. 

The Pinehurst Course Number 2 

The special thing about this course is that people travel from all over the world to play on this course. It is also known as one of the most expensive courses to play worldwide, costing $375 for one round of golf. There have been several tournaments hosted here over the years on this beautiful course. This may seem expensive to some people but it would be worth it just to play on this course once in your lifetime to just take in the course, food, drinks and hotel that you stay in. It should be on a lot of golfers’ bucket lists because it truly is a stunning course. 

Old Head Golf Links 

Heading over to Ireland, we have the beautiful Old Head Golf Links Course. It is known to be very difficult because of the rugged terrain and everything that is on the course. However, the course may be very difficult. You are still said to have an amazing game here because of the views you will get from the course. After you play your $400 round of golf you can head over to the five-star restaurant they have as well as sit at their bar. Their hospitality is definitely one of a kind and they love to welcome new guests as well. 

Pebble Beach Golf Links 

The Pebble Beach Golf Links Course sits in beautiful California overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This course is most often used for the U.S. Open and the Ryder Cup. It is so special that even the course will take you out over the peninsula for a couple holes. Al though to play on this course it will cost you about $475, but you are paying to play on a very high-class course so it definitely would be worth it. 

Shadow Creek Golf Course 

Last but not least on the most expensive golf courses in the world is Shadow Creek Golf Course in Nevada. It cost the people between $60 and $100 million to build this course so it is taken very seriously. With the cost to build the course you will have to pay $500 to play a round but looking at the bigger picture that is nothing compared to what it took to build the most expensive golf course in the world.
