Pebble Beach Golf Links
Probably the most famous golf course in California known as Pebble Golf Links is a true beauty. Currently it is very limited at the course to get a recommendation because of how many people are playing at the moment. Bobby Jones first introduced the golfing world to Pebble Beach during the 1929 Amateur and that is what made it so famous. There are so many tournaments that take place here and it’s no wonder why it is so busy. The next U.S. The Open Championship will be held on this course again in the year 2027. Of course there are still huge tournaments being hosted here before then as well.
Torrey Pines Golf Course
The Torrey Pines Golf Course overlooks the Pacific Ocean and sits on the cliffs of La Jolla. It offers two 18-hole golf courses that are both pretty challenging. The course differs in size quite a bit but they both have a par of 72. It even has a driving range so you can get a few swings in before playing your round or you just want to practice. Every golfer should know that with the course being so close to the ocean the weather can change drastically at any moment and fast. This course is truly one of a kind and belongs on your bucket list.
TPC Harding Park
TPC Harding Park is located just about six miles away from San Francisco. And while it is in a good location it is a very unique course. The course offers a golfing shop, and a practice range with Toptracer technology to help you with your golf swing. When at this course make sure you take advantage of the Toptracer technology because it can tell you so much about your swing and may even help you out of a rut. TPC Harding Park course was even renovated in 2005 to better suit the PGA Tour and their championship events which made it into what it is today.
Indian Wells Golf Resort
Indian Wells Golf Resort truly holds its own. The resort offers a 53,00 square foot clubhouse that has many activities for all ages. The two courses here were also ranked in the top 25 “Best Municipal Courses in The United States” by Golfweek Magazine. Also, the views at the resort are absolutely stunning especially with the mountains in the backdrop of every view and picture. The celebrity course offers three different types of water hazards including streams, lakes and brooks to spice up the game a bit. PLaying on this course is definitely one of a kid and 100% belongs on your bucket list.
Stadium Course at PGA West
The Stadium Course at PGA West is the most popular golf course in Coachella Valley. It hosted the Bob Hope Classic in 1987 and has stayed popular ever since then. Many players love to come here and it is in a hot spot of California. Especially when it’s in a hot spot like Coachella Valley you know they have to do a great job. The PGA West Club has six courses to offer in the community and the Stadium Course is by far the best. Most golfers may know the famous golfer by the name of Lee Trevino, whose hole-in-one during the 1988 Skins Game actually took place on the Stadium Course.
Rams Hill Golf Club
Rams Hill Golf Club is located in California’s largest state park. The course was brought back to life from the desert floor and for the most part is a naturally occurring golf course. The landscape around it is just breathtaking and also so colorful. Even though the club is basically in the middle of nowhere it really is so relaxing and a getaway for many. If you are one to live in the colder climates this is a perfect time to getaway in the winter months. The staff always refurnish the greens and fairways every fall so they look like new.
Pasatiempo Golf Club
There are expectations while playing at Pasatiempo Golf Club. They expect you to wear proper attire while you play there such as a dress for the girls and a turtleneck and golf shorts for the guys. Although, they are very considerate if there’s a rain check, they will give a full refund if you are 5 holes in or less, and so on. They also expect players to play a round of golf within 4 hours and 15 minutes so they ask to be mindful of the time. The course also offers a driving range and professional golf lessons from Pasatiempo professionals.
Classic Club
The Classic Club golf course is a very prestigious club that has a beautiful mountain view in the back. It is also widely known because it has hosted the Bob Hope Classic from 2006 to 2008. With that being said, when it hosts this major of a tournament the course has to be challenging. The desert terrain at this course along with 30 acres of water within the course makes it even more challenging. The golf course is definitely classic, especially because it was designed by the one and only Arnold Palmer. Just the fact that Arnold Palmer designed it should make you want to have this course on your bucket list.
Coyote Moon Golf Course
Coyote Moon Golf Course located in the Lake Tahoe area has so much to offer but it is unlike the other ones in California. This golf course is located more up in the mountains surrounding itself with pine trees and a more woodsy feel. The course is still like the others when speaking about difficulty but the setting is completely different. If you do not like the desert feel and like to be more surrounded with nature this golf course is for you. Even if you do not like the forest feel, everyone should experience the different types of courses and this is the way to go.
Yocha Dehe Golf Club
The last course on our list to put on your bucket list is the Yocha Dehe Golf Club. This course will offer you a luxurious four-star hotel along with a casino right within the area of the resort. You can play all day at the golf course and enjoy the night at the casino when staying at Yocha Dehe. If gambling isn’t your thing that is completely fine, you can always spend more time on their world-class golf course. When you look at the pictures of the course it has the desert feel just like the other but also a safari feel because of the unique trees that are on the course.
